JOB SUMMARY

The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing projects performed and coordinating every aspect of the project from reviewing contract schedules, deadlines and creating change orders as needed. He/she will ensure that project stays on task as per schedule and remains on budget.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in portfolio of contracts including but not limited to claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, and guarantees
  • Manage claims, develop claim strategies, prepare notifications/correspondence and related documentation such as amendments, change orders, and other contract related documents
  • Adhere to company’s contractual interests throughout the project’s lifecycle, including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations in accordance with contract requirements
  • Lead contract and claims negotiations and settlements together with the project management team and legal as needed
  • General advice and support to project management team, site management team, procurement/supply department and other project team members in the execution of Customer Contracts to secure company’s contractual rights and entitlements
  • Work with legal and supply chain/subcontracts to define customer contract flow downs to subcontracts, supply contracts and consortium agreements
  • Support and participate in weekly and monthly project status meetings with project team, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Coach project team members in commercial awareness, contract, and claims management topics
  • Prepare a monthly executive report on overall additional costs as well as claim status
  • Generate and maintain accurate job aid for duties assigned
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required and 5+ years of experience, or
  • 10 years’ experience in contract management functions, processes and management/administration of varying sizes and types of contractual agreements
  • Solid experience in change management, claim management and contract related legal issues and possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding project execution

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents such as scopes of work, and project schedule

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Ability to quickly learn the organizations systems
  • Must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting constantly
  • Will work in an office and job site setting (indoors/outdoors)
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner
  • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds
