Job Summary

The form builder setter will construct build in place or prefabricated wooden forms according to specifications for molding concrete structures for highways, roadways, sewer, and bridges.

Essential Functions

  • Examine blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine type and dimensions of forms to be constructed
  • Saw lumber to blueprint dimensions using handsaw or power saw and nail lumber together to create form panels
  • Erect build-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms on construction site according to blueprints using hand tools, plumb, level and ruler
  • Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions
  • Anchor and brace forms to fixed object using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timbers
  • Measures boards, timbers or plywood using square, measuring tape and ruler
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years’ experience in highway, bridge, sewer, and road construction

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to operate job related tools
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help.
