Recruiting Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for the review, evaluation, and reporting of applications, qualifications, interviews, screening, and training of applicants. Recruiting Manager provides reports to the HR Personnel & Compliance Manager in regards to manpower recruiting, and federal annual reports.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support all Company Divisions by recruiting and hiring quality craft workers to jobs in a timely manner based on manpower needs
  • Develop & establish recruitment strategies
  • Track workforce availability including new recruits using established systems and programs
  • Maintain a current and historical record of walk-in log of all applicants
  • Retain employment applications for all crafts for a period of 12 months
  • Conduct background checks, drug screens, MVRs, medical and physical assessment testing, craft testing, & safety training for qualified craft workers
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee personnel files in the company’s scanning archive system
  • Responsible for providing accurate data for yearly EEO1 and VETS4212 reports for the company
  • Participate in quarterly wage surveys with Alpha Resources & U.S. Department of Labor and provide survey results to corresponding company departments
  • Supervise a staff of Personnel Recruiters and Personnel Assistants to comply with company and federal guidelines
  • Stay up to date with State, Federal, and Company policies and labor laws
  • Maintain working relationship with local craft training centers and local HR organizations
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in job related duties
  • Training and Interview skills preferred
  • SHRM Certified Professional credential preferred
  • Knowledge in Heavy Construction Industry and industry craft positions
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret policies and guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written with customers and employees at all levels
