Job Summary:

The Site Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing site operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that all work is completed safely, on time and within budget to the right quality standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the tracking of project records such as material tickets, quantity reporting forms, billing documents, requests for information (RFI’s), submittals, and production reports
  • Understand the baseline and current job schedule, job duration, and contract schedule. Manage resources to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Manage the daily and/or weekly job meetings, and status of RFI’s and submittals
  • Assist with setting of budgets for overhead, billable and non-billable accounts. Monitors and controls budget through completion of work. Monitor and report cash flow, schedule, and budget deviations
  • Ensure the commercial and technical requirements of contracts are understood and interfaced with internal support departments and administrative procedures as well as ensuring that the contractual invoicing procedures are implemented, and monthly client invoices are issued timely. Responsible for monitoring for payment
  • Approve data involving cost, production, material yields, budgets, pay applications, and change orders
  • Communicate with project team including management and superintendents to ensure a smooth project from start to finish, and act as a liaison between project management and estimators
  • Direct all job site activities to maintain compliance with contract specifications, client requirements, and local, state, and federal building codes
  • Supervise project employees and subcontractors to ensure quality and timeliness of construction, and can communicate, inspect, resolve conflict, and follow client’s and management’s direction
  • Responsible for being the point of contact on the job for clients, subcontractors, and other internal customers
  • Complete and submit project reports and job status updates as required
  • Perform general mathematic calculations and understand basic measurement
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting safety culture
  • Generate and maintain accurate job aid for duties assigned
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory and industry experience
  • Knowledge of industrial experience within a heavy construction industry

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
  • Must be proactive and plan accordingly, self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude are required for troubleshooting and implementing improvement plans
  • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
  • Familiar with all relevant local, state, and federal laws
  • Proficient in use of US customary unit’s ft., in., lbs., psi, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and be insurable

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Will work in an indoor and outdoor setting
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to operate field equipment (e.g., ladder, shovel)
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer)
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner
  • Work will include moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds
