JOB SUMMARY

The Tire & Lube Service Crew Lead oversees daily tire, lubrication, and preventive maintenance operations for commercial vehicles, non-commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment. This role leads technicians, ensures safe and efficient workflow, maintains quality standards, and supports productivity in a fast-paced service environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and lead tire and lube technicians
  • Assign work and manage daily workflow across multiple vehicle types
  • Oversee tire service, oil changes, lubrication, and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
  • Perform quality checks and resolve service or rework issues
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, tools, and equipment
  • Monitor inventory of tires, fluids, and shop supplies
  • Use computer systems to track work orders, schedules, and reports
  • Communicate operational updates to management
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks
  • Generate and maintain accurate job aid for duties assigned
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • 3+years of tire and lube experience (commercial/heavy equipment preferred)
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in shop and outdoor environments

  • Must have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in a fleet vehicle operation
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
  • Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
  • Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented
  • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
  • Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
  • Ability to operate job related tools
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
