Bay Ltd. Volunteering: Hurricane Harvey
The devastation to South Texas after Hurricane Harvey is a site like no other leaving massive amounts of debris and many with out homes in the Coastal Bend area.
Bay Ltd. decided to team up with Operation Blessing International, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) humanitarian organization whose mission is “dedicated to demonstrating God’s love by alleviating human need and suffering in the United States and around the world”. Together on Saturday, September 9th , they volunteered in Rockport to help victims of Harvey.
They spent the morning picking up debris and clearing out homes that were in the storm’s path. It was one of the most rewarding experiences for Bay Ltd. volunteers because they had the chance to work directly with community members in need. These families had been through so much from Harvey but they were so grateful and met the team with a smile on their face and a hug.
Having so many there to support those in need in Rockport and the surrounding areas truly proves that people caring about people will help these communities become stronger and better moving forward from Harvey!
