Job Summary

MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IN A CONSTRUCTION TRADE AND PROVIDE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION.

The Construction Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in the heavy industrial construction field. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the industry. You will work under the guidance of skilled professionals assisting with various tasks on the construction project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support journeymen and supervisors in the execution of project tasks, including, but not limited to site preparation, material handling, and equipment operation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training sessions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Operate and maintain construction tools and machinery under supervision. Learn to use equipment such as cranes and other heavy machinery.
  • Help with site cleanup, organization, and material inventory. Ensure that work areas are kept tidy, and materials are properly stored.
  • Assist in measuring and laying out construction projects according to blueprints and plans.
  • Participate in on the job training. Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Report any issues or concerns to supervisors. Collaborate effectively with team members and follow instructions given.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must currently be enrolled in a Registered Apprenticeship Program in a Construction trade; Rigging or Crane Operations apprentices preferred

  • Able to work non-routine hours, when necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
  • Work long hours with moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another constantly perform repeating motions with feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers to include walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, gripping, climbing, depressing
  • Excellent depth perception and reaction time
  • Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery
  • Ability to wear required and appropriate PPE equipment
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles
  • Exposure to moderate noise level in the workplace
  • Ability to operate job related tools
  • Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
