JOB SUMMARY
CLASS A CDL and NCCCO (or equivalent) required
The Crane Assembly / Disassembly (A/D) Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of crane assembly and disassembly operations. This position requires the individual to manage and coordinate a team to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely assembly and disassembly of cranes according to project and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct and manage a crew in order through the safe assembly and disassembly of crane operations.
- Follow strict adherence to manufacturers procedures and instructions for the assembly or disassembly of cranes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, trucking supervisor, and managers to coordinate timely and effective logistics.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of load out, offloading, and movement of cranes.
- Ensures compliance with all necessary safety requirements including OSHA, company guidelines, job site and customer policies.
- Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
- Performs daily and monthly inspections on cranes and oversees the maintenance, inspection, and repair of equipment to ensure optimal performance with manufacturers specifications.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all assembly/disassembly operations, conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of assembly/disassembly activities, including equipment usage, labor hours, safety incidents, and project milestones.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AVAILABILITY AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid class A CDL required
- Current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification required
- 5+ years of relevant experience required
- Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, and perform out of town work
- Ability to pass pre-employment qualifications such as drug test, background check, and/or fit-for-duty test
SKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations pertaining to crane operations
- Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
- Must have strong computer skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
- Able to work non-routine hours, when necessary
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
- Work long hours with moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another constantly perform repeating motions with feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers to include walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, gripping, climbing, depressing
- Excellent depth perception and reaction time
- Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery
- Ability to wear required and appropriate PPE equipment
- Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles
- Exposure to moderate noise level in the workplace
- Ability to operate job related tools
- Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
