Job Summary:

The PC Technician is responsible for providing support to computer users with installation of hardware/software and networking components. This position is also responsible for identifying and resolving technical and networking issues on a daily basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support to customer base via phone, WAN and on-site visits to multiple sites
  • Assist with network and technical support duties
  • Provide troubleshooting support on all MS Office Suite products in a corporate environment
  • Conduct Windows 8 and 10 troubleshooting and installation (via MS deployment server)
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair Windows based computers
  • Install and configure local and network printers
  • Identify and resolve technical/network problems in a timely manner
  • Diagnose problems with individual or m1Jltiple computer systems in order to maintain proper functioning; resolve issues including contacting and assisting vendors
  • Respond to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
  • Promote job safety, encourage safe work practices, and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. experience of equivalent hands-on field experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and good driving record is required to drive to company locations including offsite locations in a company pool car
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling company and project information
  • Knowledge of the organization to complete assignments
  • Proficient in the use, installation, and repair of PCs and office equipment
  • Knowledge of PC based office software, Windows networking skills, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Internet, and email technology
  • Basic training related to MS Windows 2012 domains
  • Knowledge of Symantec products, installation and troubleshooting, and remote access tools (DameWare and RDP)
  • Knowledge of Help Desk ticketing software (Track-It or similar)
  • A+, Network+ or Microsoft certifications are preferred
  • Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written with customers and employees at all levels

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Will work in an indoor and outdoor setting
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer)
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner
  • Work will include moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds
