Job Summary

The Warehouseman is responsible for overseeing, supervising and documenting the functions required for material receiving, inventory control, storage, and material issuance.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for overseeing, supervising and documenting the functions required for material receiving, inventory control, storage, and material issuance
  • Prepares material/shipping orders, processes requests, packs boxes,  and sorts items according to project/department needs
  • Ability to distinguish material types, sizes, ratings, schedules and material grades
  • Assists supervisor to resolve discrepancies
  • Label and color code all materials received
  • Pull material from inventory as needed for project by reading engineering drawings
  • Operate fork lift to load and unload trucks
  • Perform general mathematic calculations and understand basic measurement
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting safety culture
  • Ability to work non-routine hours when necessary
  • Generate and maintain accurate job aid for duties assigned
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Heavy Construction Industry and related job duties
  • Prior experience in operating a fork lift

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and employees at all levels
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of material requirements as it pertains to oil and gas industry and heavy construction
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
  • Must be proactive and plan accordingly, self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and be insurable

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Will work in an indoor and outdoor setting
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to operate field equipment (e.g., ladder, fork lift)
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer)
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, fingers and/or legs
  • Work will include moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds
